Welcome to the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center!
About Tuscaloosa
The Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center (TVAMC) is located in West Alabama, where the facility is situated on a beautiful campus of 125 acres with 25 major buildings. TVAMC provides primary care, long-term health care and mental health care services to eligible veterans in the VA Southeast Network (Veterans Integrated Service Network [VISN] # 7). The Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center provides access to secondary and tertiary care services.
Suicide Hot Line
VA has begun operating a national suicide prevention hot line for veterans. The toll–free hot line number-- 1–800–273–TALK (8255) –– is staffed by mental health professionals 24–hours a day, seven days a week. "Veterans need to know these VA professionals are literally a phone call away," said Secretary of Veterans Affairs Jim Nicholson. "All service members who experience the stresses of combat can have wounds on their minds as well as their bodies. Veterans should see mental health services as another benefit they have earned."
