Women Veterans Health Care Benefit Forum

Hosted by the West Alabama Veterans Action Board (WAVAB).

Located at the University of Alabama, Capital Hall, Room 1808

See Directions Below

We care about you and need to hear from our Women Veterans!

Please join us to discuss your concerns and receive educational information on VA Health Care Benefits Eligibility/Enrollment (2) Services Offered by the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center and (3) Locations to receive care. A Disabled American Representative will be onsite to assist with benefits questions.

Did you know? Women Veterans make up 10% of the 22 million Veterans in the U.S.; yet, only 6 % are users of VA Health Care. A lack of knowledge regarding available services is the No. 1 “modifiable” barrier for women Veterans to accessing VA Health Care.

If you are a female veteran, please attend. If you know a female Veteran, please ask her to attend!

Light refreshments will be served.

Directions: Come to the University by way of McFarland Blvd., taking the exit near the DCH Regional Hospital. This should put you on University Boulevard. Follow road for a few blocks till you reach an intersection with a drug store on the left, take a RIGHT at that light onto 5th Avenue. Follow 5th Avenue till you come to another light and take a LEFT onto Campus Drive East. You will know you are going the right way if you see parking lots all around. Go till you reach a 4-way stop and take a RIGHT. This should put you going down a tree lined small road going towards a large white building under construction. Capital Hall is the 2-story brick building to your right. Parking is free. For questions, please call Cynthia Ward at 205-554-2000 Ext. 1-3074.
