TVAMC VA Video Connect
Due to the risks associated with the COVID-19 Pandemic, VA Medical Centers across the country have steadily increased their use of virtual care rather than traditional face-to-face visits. The way we are providing safety to both our Veterans and staff is through VA Video Connect!
With VA Video Connect on a desktop, smartphone or tablet, Veterans can participate in video appointments that are encrypted to ensure a secure, private session. VA Video Connect is a web-based platform that allows Veterans to meet with their providers online in a “virtual medical room”. Each room is secure and HIPAA compliant allowing Veterans to receive treatment while enjoying their morning coffee in their homes or any environment of their choosing. The application can be used for any and all medical appointments when a hands-on physical examination is not required. Distance from a VA facility, having limited time, or needing to consider special health conditions need not deter Veterans from receiving the quality healthcare they deserve.
So how do you go about getting connected with VA Video Connect?
If VVC is recommended for the Veteran, simple steps are to follow. Prior to the session, an email invite will be sent with a hyperlink to the Virtual Medical Room. All Veterans must do is click the link and voila! A nurse will have an initial VVC session with users to ensure successful connection and clarify any concerns.
To access VVC all that is needed is a device with a camera. This can be a cellphone, computer or tablet. If these resources are not available, possible accommodations may be provided.For more infomation on how to access VA Video Connect please check out this step by step instructional video:
