Meds on Cue for Medication

Thursday, June 6, 2019
We now offer a new way to learn about your medications. Introducing MedsOnCue, where patients can get prescription information via OnDemand. Access to a video library is available via a custom-branded website that is optimized for touchscreen tablets, kiosks, or any internet connected device.

More than one-third of adults in the U.S. struggle with following directions on prescription drug labels and other common health tasks. As a result, many patients don’t take their medications as prescribed. Contributing to this medication misuse is low health literacy, which is linked to a higher risk of emergency room visits, hospitalizations and even death.

MedsOnCue is the largest and most robust medication video library in the world to address low health literacy. Despite the growing complexity of medications and the advancement of technology, most medication information is delivered today the way it was decades ago. MedsOnCue is changing this paradigm by delivering a medication experience like none other; a digital experience to support patients and their families, when they need it and in the media format of their choice.

What is MedsOnCue?

MedsOnCue is a patient engagement platform for smartphones and electronic tablets. MedsOnCue delivers hundreds of on-demand medication videos, in both English and Spanish. Other value-added services include meaningful features like Med Guides, written information, drug images, and more.

How does it work?

MedsOnCue utilizes QR codes printed on prescription labels to deliver on-demand prescription-specific videos designed to engage and educate patients. With newer phones, patients only need a Smartphone or electronic tablet as the QR functionality is built into the native camera. Simply point the camera at the QR code and MedsOnCue will launch. If using an older phone or software, you can use your current QR scanning app or download an app for free.

What is a QR Code?
QR or Quick Response Codes are a type of two-dimensional barcode that can be read using Smartphones (or electronic tablets) and QR scanning app, that link directly to websites, text, emails, phone numbers and more. The QR code on your label links to the MedsOnCue website.

First, check and see if you need to download a QR Code Reader app. The newer phones and operating systems have the QR reader built into the camera. Simply point the camera at the QR code and MedsOnCue will launch. MedsOnCue should work with most QR code readers. Below is our recommended Reader. The apps do change from time to time and will be revised as new versions are released by the developer, so the performance may change over time.
Android Users:
Donwload the Google Camera app, or download the SCAN app or any other QR code reader app from Google Play

iPhone Users:
iPhone users have a QR code reader built into the camera.
SCAN: Hold the smartphone 2 to 6 inches away and then scan the QR code.
WATCH and LEARN: Watch on-demand videos that answer questions about your specific medication.
INTERACT: Access to your pharmacy, medication reminders and healthcare resources are a click away.
