Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center Transition Center

Welcome Home! Find out about the services that we offer for returning veterans. It is our duty and privilege to provide veterans with the best available healthcare. The Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center (TVAMC) has developed the Transition Services Program to provide comprehensive health services that meet the unique needs of those returning from Operation Iraqi Freedom / Operation Enduring Freedom / Operation New Dawn (OIF/OEF/OND) and their families.

Many service members have suffered from injury and/or illness related to their duty assignment in support of the Global War on Terrorism. It is our goal to ensure these servicemen receive the highest quality care in a timely manner.

We encourage you to contact the Transition Center Team at:

(205) 554-2000
or toll free at 1-888-269-3045, ext. 2500,
to assist you in establishing healthcare services and
to answer any questions you may have.

Am I eligible for services thru the Transition Center?

Veterans who served on active duty in a theater of combat operations during a period of war after November 11, 1998 or in combat against a hostile force during a period of hostilities are eligible for healthcare services for a period of five years.
