Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) PUBLIC NOTICE
The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations will conduct unannounced triennial accreditation surveys of the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center. Additionally, a one-day unannounced survey could occur.
The purpose of the survey will be to evaluate the organization's compliance with nationally established Joint Commission standards. The survey results will be used to determine whether, and the conditions under which accreditation should be awarded the organization. Joint Commission standards deal with organization quality, safety-of-care issues, and the safety of the environment in which care is provided. Any individual with a concern about patient/resident care and safety in the hospital should contact the hospital management:
3701 Loop Road East
If hospital management does not address or resolve the concern, you may contact the Joint Commission at any time:
Office of Quality Monitoring
The Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center will not take any disciplinary or retaliatory action because an employee reports safety or quality of care concerns to the Joint Commission.
This notice is posted in accordance with the Joint Commission's accreditation participation requirements.
